SUMMARY:Margo Duvall - The Tie That Binds @ AOM
DESCRIPTION:Margo Duvall’s artwork investigates photography’s role in the development of memory and identity through film\, mixed media and installation based pieces. “The idea for this piece came to me a year ago. One of the strongest women I know found herself in a situation beyond her control. She felt like her world was crumbling and there was little to grab hold to. I wanted to make her a net…a network of strong\, amazing women to catch her\, to reassure her\, and to lift her back to where she needed to be. Through this process of making this piece and watching this strong\, amazing woman regain her personal power\, I have never been more sure…the women are certainly stronger.” \nChloe & Joe Kirksey Gallery \nBIO \nMargo Duvall is an artist and educator currently living in Little Rock\, AR. She earned her MFA in Photography from San Jose State University (2009) and her BA in Studio Art from Humboldt State University (2006). She currently teaches at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville\, AR. \nDuvall’s artwork investigates photography’s role in the development of memory and identity through film\, mixed media and installation-based pieces. She has received recognition as an artist with numerous solo and group exhibitions including the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts annual Delta Exhibition\, Arkansas Arts Council’s Small Works on Paper\, Ft. Smith’s Regional Art Museum\, and many more. \nMargo Duvall: https://www.margoduvall.com/

SUMMARY:The Little Prince. A Young Actors Guild Production
DESCRIPTION:Directed by Missy Gipson \nThe Little Prince may have returned to his own tiny planet to tend his Rose and look after his Sheep\, but for a short enchanted time he returns to us and comes alive on stage. This play/musical tells the story of a world-weary and disenchanted Aviator whose sputtering plane strands him in the Sahara Desert and a mysterious\, regal “little man” who appears and asks him to “Please\, sir\, draw me a sheep.” During their two weeks together in the desert\, the Little Prince tells the Aviator about his adventures through the galaxy\, how he met the Lamplighter and the Businessman and the Geographer\, and about his strained relationship with a very special flower on his own tiny planet. The Little Prince talks to everyone he meets: a garden of roses\, the Snake and a Fox who wishes to be tamed. From each he gains a unique insight which he shares with the Aviator: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.” At length\, both the Little Prince and the Aviator must go home—each with a new understanding of how to laugh\, cry\, and love again. \nProduced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock\, Illinois
